"The Love Dude" with our special guest John Goodwin
Produced by Paul Leslie and Jeff Pike
(Special thanks to Henry H. Jordan III and David Brainard for additional recording and engineering)

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."
-Thomas Merton in 'No Man Is an Island'

Our special guest John Goodwin is a man who breathes and lives his art. His creativity is evident in his many intense paintings and photography. However, John Goodwin is most known for the words and melodies that blend to make his incredible songs. John Goodwin's songs tell the truth about the inlets of EVERY human heart. To quote one of his songs "we may live in different houses, but it's all the same home." Goodwin is working on a solo acoustic and vocal album, and his most recent album "Nashville," has gained great acclaim. Celebrated actor Jeff Bridges called Goodwin's work "filled with hope, longing, love and laughs" and goes on to describe him as "an artist filled with insight, poetry and soul." Wendy Wilson of the pop trio "Wilson Phillips" describes Goodwin as an artist who "poignantly and poetically reveals the truth about human nature." Lastly, Grammy award-winning blue eyed soul singer Michael McDonald said "John Goodwin is one of the most talented composers that I've had the pleasure of working with."

As the host of this program, I frequently am asked, "but what do you listen to?" John Goodwin is inevitably the first artist I list. John Goodwin joined us for a very honest interview and special acoustic performance recorded in the heart of Nashville. Goodwin brought his old guitar and some great stories and we managed to preserve a warm conversation and simple six-string music from an artist who means it. Listen in online from anywhere in the world and see why John Goodwin's songs have found their way in so many great movies--a testament to John's ability to take true human emotion and experience and turn it into music; and why John Goodwin has won the praise of some of the most endlessly creative artists of our time. The state of the artist is alive and well. The artist is John Goodwin. Listen.
