THE ZEE AVI SPECIAL
Aloha friends, this week on Time After Island Time we continue our travel on the Brushfire Records songlines with our special Zee Avi. Zee Avi is a very talented singer-songwriter, guitarist and ukulele player. Zee is from Malaysia and began to gain recognition and fans by posting videos of her performances on YouTube. Patrick Keeler, drummer for the Raconteurs saw one of her videos and soon she was in Los Angeles, California recording her brand new self-titled debut album. Zee Avi was signed to Jack Johnson and Emmett Malloy's Brushfire Records. On May 19th, 2009; the debut of her album, Zee was featured on the homepage of YouTube.com. Her album is becoming popular on iTunes and one track, "Monte," was featured on the second season finale of the TV series "Private Practice." Zee Avi is currently touring the United States gaining fans of all ages and backgrounds. Join us for an honest down-to-earth talk with Zee Avi and some of the best music around.
